Phlogging: My Visit to Camden Yards

It's been a long time since I wrote a photo blog (aka Phlogging) so why not do one for my recent quick vacation to Baltimore.  Last week, my wife, son, and I went to Maryland to visit the National Aquarium, the Science Center, and many other highlights.  In between adventures, I was able to sneak off and take in a Reds vs. Orioles game at Camden Yards.

I had visited Camden many, many years ago but almost nothing about the ballpark was familiar to me during my recent visit.

The Orioles were celebrating Pride Night the night I was there so you'll see plenty of rainbows throughout the photos.  Honestly, that felt more like a money grab (there was a special "ad" on the big screen in the middle of the game saying to get your O's Pride Gear available for one day only).

The stadium had nice and wide concourses.  I particularly liked the open walkway between the stadium and what I thought was a warehouse (maybe it used to be a warehouse)?  The strings of lights looked great during the evening.  This is also where you can find Boog's BBQ which I had to try:

It was certainly tasty - and that's saying something because I walked all the way back to my seat before I realized that I didn't put any sauce on it.  Still delicious, so good job Boog.  The chips were heavy on the Old Bay seasoning but I still liked them quite a bit as well.  All things considered, there are worse ways to spend about $15 at the ballpark!

My seats were on the first level but in the second section (the section basically under the overhang).  I  liked the seats and the view.  Even better, the Reds won in extra innings in what was a pretty exciting, well-played game (though both starters were quite horrible)!

As a bonus, here's one of my photos from the National Aquarium as well:

All things considered, my family and I had a good time in Baltimore.  And while I didn't take a photo of it, I did get to enjoy one nice seafood meal (complete with a crab cake, of course)!

  1. I was there around 20 years ago, looks about the same (except the blatant gambling advertising, lordy). It's a great park. I've eaten inside the warehouse. Also, the aquarium was phenomenal.

  2. Looks like a good trip. Any time I've been out that way Baltimore is never on the agenda.

  3. Nice to hear you and the family had a good time. Didn't visit a local card shop or card show while there?

  4. Awesome photos and trip! I went there last in 2009. Feels like I should make another trek down there with my son - it's really not that far!

  5. Thank you for giving us a tour of Camden Yards. Never been there before... but hopefully one day. I'm all about ballpark food... and the bbq sandwich looks delicious. Glad the Reds won. It's always a nice bonus when your team wins at the game you attended.
