Today's box puts me at the two-thirds mark in terms of completing the case rip. Amazingly, I'm still having fun - Ginter never ceases to amuse me and while this year's set has been (mostly) tame thus far, it's still been a lot of fun to rip through. I've got huge piles of cards to sort through...but that will have to wait until I get through the final five boxes so let's get right into today's box!
Box 8:
For back-to-back boxes, I pulled a Mike Trout cabinet box topper. While he's probably the one guy you might want to get two copies of, I'd rather all my box toppers in a single case be unique. Oh well (and if you want the scan, refer to yesterday's post since it's the same darn card).
I will scan my mini inserts, however, as those are what I covet!
With only 4 or 5 mini inserts per box, it's going to take some work on my end to finish off all of the mini insert sets. That being said, this case will give me a solid head start (and I've been active over on TCDB trying to trade for minis as well)!
Besides the mini inserts, I also pulled one other mini of note:
Yep, the A&G back Barry Larkin parallel - nice!! That's back-to-back boxes with Larkin minis which is kind of amazing since Barry is a short print this year.
Finally, the hits. For the second time this case, I only found two hits in my box...one was a blah relic of Victor Robles but the other was a nice rip card to make up for things.
I debated about whether or not I should rip this one since my first rip card yielded only a Randy Johnson extended mini. That said, the temptation was too strong so I give it a go...
Yep, a Mike Trout extended mini. Not bad, though I was definitely hoping for an auto or one of those rarer options that lurk inside rip cards!
That does it for box #8. Kind of a bummer for two boxes in the case to be missing a hit but even so, I'd say it's been a successful case thus far - and the best part is that there's still four more boxes to go!

Not the worst rip card I suppose. Seems like they don't have too many autographs within the rips anymore?
