Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone. I hope your turkey is thawing and I hope you've got ample amounts of cranberries and potatoes. Speaking of ample amounts of things, I received an ample amount of baseball cards in the past week thanks to a number of TCDB trades - so let's get to it!
First up, from user Philpott comes an International Delights mini from 2023 Allen & Ginter.
I think I've mentioned it on my blog before, but one of the best meals that I've ever eaten happened to have occurred in he Czech Republic. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the dish was that I ate (it was at a local restaurant and nothing on the menu was in English). I do know that it wasn't the dish shown on the above card...but I also know that I'd love to try Vepro-Knedlo-Zelo as it's a pork dish with dumplings and sauerkraut. Sounds good to me!
Next, a trade with user ceasterday:
Yep, three more minis from 2023 Ginter. I've never been to either Ethiopia nor France so I don't have much to say about either of those landmarks. I do think both would be neat to see though if I'm being honest neither Ethiopia nor France are at the top of my "must see" country list at the moment.
Continuing through the mail bag, next up is a PWE from user Bsiga:
Oh yeah, keeping that 2023 Ginter mini train rolling along! The pool is a fun gimmick for Arizona but I think I'm more interested in the pair of food-themed dessert cards. Carrot cake is a particular favorite of mine!
Next, another 2023 Ginter mini, this time from user FSCGrad777:
That's another "Only In" card, this time celebrating monument park in the Bronx. I guess if there's any team in MLB who should have something like that, it's got to be the Yankees with their storied history. I still haven't been to the new Yankee Stadium - and in my one visit to the old Yankee Stadium I didn't have a chance to visit Monument Park. I guess that's another thing to add to the bucket list!
I think I'll end today with a PWE from user GeoGeo.
Just when you thought it'd be nothing but 2023 Ginters I'm able to sneak in one non-Ginter card. That Larkin is a 1994 Superstar Sampler card and it's one of the last few Larkin cards that I need from 1994. In fact, with this card now in hand, I'm down to needing only seven more cards from '94 before I can call that year complete for my Barry Larkin Collection!
That's it for this week. Actually, if I'm being honest it's not truly the end of the TCDB trades but I think I'll hold off on showing the rest and keep those for next Monday's post. With the holiday this week, I don't expect I'll be completing many new trades so if nothing else at least I'll have some more TCDB content for next week for sure!
