Barry Larkin
Year: 1991
Brand: Stadium Club
Card number: 92
Variation: E
The 1991 Stadium Club set has two different versions of Barry's base card. There's an "E" version and an "F" version. The card you see above is the "E" version which you can (kind of) easily tell by the small "E" on the copyright line. Not surprisingly, the "F" version is the same except there's a small "F" on the copyright line where you see the "E" on this particular card.
Yep, it's a stupid variation...maybe not quite as stupid as the asterisk/no asterisk or period/no period variations from Donruss...but definitely still stupid! Of course, you probably don't end up amassing over 1,000 different cards of the same player without having some rather dumb cards in your collection!

I noticed this kind of variation when I uploaded my Largent collection to TCDB. Any idea what these different letters mean? Maybe it has to do with the sheets they were printed on.
ReplyDeleteThat was my assumption as well, but no, I don't know for sure!
