Barry Larkin
Year: 1996
Brand: Collector's Choice
Parallel set: Silver Signature
Card number: 401
Back in the 90s, Upper Deck released a kid-friendly brand called Collector's Choice. For a number of years, the set featured two standard parallels: a silver signature and a gold signature. The Silver Signature parallels were seeded one-per-pack typically while the Gold Signature cards were limited to one-per-box. The card you see above is the more common Silver Signature version of Larkin's team checklist card.
Now wait, you say "there's no signature present!"
You are correct - it turns out that Upper Deck simply made the team name in silver foil for the "Silver Signature" parallels. Why even bother to make parallels of a checklist if that's all you are going to do? I have no good answers for you, that was baseball card collecting in the mid-90s I guess!

The lack of a signature is silly... but props to UD for their solid team checklist... and a nice action shot of Larkin.
