Delivery Time! Trading on the Discord!

Every Monday, I recap the trades that I complete over on TCDB.  There's no doubt that the vast majority of my card trading now happens on that site.  However, TCDB is not my only source of trading!  I still complete the occasional trade through the blog, and now that my Discord is up and running with a fairly large number of folks in it, I am also starting to make trades through that channel!  

Today's envelope of cards is the result of one such Discord trade (with user ocelot).  I was able to acquire cards from a few different 2024 Allen & Ginter sets plus a McDonald's card!  First up, here is a small selection of Chrome minis.

At this point, I am down to needing 19 of the 100 mini Chrome cards before I can call my set complete.  Here's the full list of what I'm still looking for in terms of the 2024 A&G Chrome minis:

I'm still holding out hope that I'll complete that set before the 2025 Allen & Ginter set is released!  I was certainly happy to be able to get three cards from the set in a single trade, that's kind of rare once you get to the ends of any set build.

Sticking with A&G minis, I was also happy to acquire two more mini inserts:

The Argentina card is from the Flags of the World set while the Nevada card is from the 50 States set.  Both of those sets contain 50 minis each making both sets a fairly challenging set build!  At this point in time, I'm down to needing seven more Flags of the World cards and only four more 50 States cards.

Next, we move to the regular-sized cards.  I'm also still working on the Chrome Refractor set and thanks ocelot, I was able to get four cards closer to that set build being done.

The Skenes was a nice card to acquire, only because over on TCDB people seem to hoard rookie cards like every rookie is the next Mickey Mantle.  I don't get it because you can count on one hand the number of pitcher rookie cards from the last decade or two that have actual value today (basically Kershaw and Ohtani).  As for the set build, I'm a bit further behind on the Chrome Refractor set as compared to the mini Chrome set, but the race to completion is still close.  I'm still in need of 24 Chrome Refractors (as compared to needing only 19 mini Chrome cards).  For those that might have some Refractors lying around unloved, here's what remains on my want list:

Finally, in a complete turn of things I also traded for a McDonald's Pokemon card.  

My son has gotten bit by the Pokemon bug and, in turn, I've had to learn how to play the game and get myself some cards as well.  The McDonald's set this year celebrated (mostly) Dragon Pokemon which was fun and this Rayquaza happens to be one of the final cards that we needed for our set builds (we are attempting to build a full set for each of us).  At this point in time, the final two cards that I'm still searching for are #11 Roaring Moon and #12 Dragonite.  

Last but not least, ocelot threw in a few lovely surprise bonus cards for me including a shiny Andrew Abbott Green Foil #/99.
