Barry Larkin
According to baseballcardpedia, it's estimated that there are 5375 copies of each Steel card produced and only 235 Gold Steel cards produced. Luckily for me, I own both the Steel version and the Gold Steel version (which I'll show off in a future Barry Larkin Collection post)!
Year: 1996
Brand: Leaf Preferred
Insert: Steel
Card number: 69
In 1996, the Leaf Preferred set had an insert set aptly named Steel, since it consisted of 77 cards printed on slabs of steel plates. The Steel cards were inserted one in every pack, so while they aren't super rare, it is still difficult to find the specific player you want since the set is so large! To make collecting even tougher, the Steel set has a Gold Steel parallel.

I don't own any of the gold parallels, but I bought a complete steel set awhile back. Probably the heaviest set I own :D
