My First Topps Now Card of 2025!

Topps runs an online program called Topps Now, which is designed as a "print-on-demand" type of service.  Each day, Topps picks certain notable achievements and then creates cards for that event.  Cards then go on sale, and collectors can choose to purchase the specific cards that they want.

On March 31 of this year, Reds' shortstop Elly De La Cruz drove in a career-high 7 RBIs against the Texas Rangers.  On the back of that offensive showcase (and my wild hopes that Elly would be a true superstar this year), I decided to pick up his Topps Now card celebrating his big day at the plate:

The Reds have only been the subject of three Topps Now cards thus far in 2025.  Of those three cards, two of them feature Elly (the other De La Cruz card celebrates Elly hitting a grand slam on his bobblehead night).  According to Topps' website, the print run for the Elly card that I bought was 2,341 copies.  The grand slam card had a print run of 2,386 copies, so it's clear that Elly has a strong following!  For comparison, the only other Reds' Topps Now card this year is of Hunter Greene, and it had a print run of only 494 copies!

  1. Nice looking photo. And I'm pretty impressed that Topps was able to get physical copies produced, shipped, and delivered within three weeks. Kudos to them.
