Happy Friday, everyone! Now that my semester is over, I've been trying to be more active on the trading front (both with baseball cards and board games). Today, I'm pleased to show off a recent board game trade that I completed over on Board Game Geek.
This is one of the expansions to the game Belfort (which I still own). In my limited plays of Belfort, I didn't find the expansion necessary. Plus, if I'm being honest, Belfort isn't one of my favorite games that I own, so parting with this relatively rare expansion was fine by me.
Giving: Belfort: Her Majesty's Civil Service

Getting:
Meadow
Meadow Downstream
Meadow Downstream
Sleeves for both the base game and the expansion
That's correct, I took an expansion I didn't need and traded it off for a full base game with expansion, plus special card sleeves.
I haven't yet had a chance to learn and play Meadow, but it's a highly regarded game that is supposed to play great at two players (my most common player count these days).
Overall, I'm pleased with the swap, if only because I have way more of a chance to get Meadow played on a regular basis as compared to Belfort (which needs at least three players). Not only that, but I still own base Belfort, so if I really want to, I can still play the base game! I'll have to learn Meadow soon and give it a try; perhaps a proper review is in order once I get it played.
I have several other games up on my trade list, and I'm hoping to use some of my free time this summer to further cull my collection (storage space seems to always be an issue with me and my hobbies)! Hopefully, I'll have more board game trades to show off on future Friday posts.
