Barry Larkin
Year: 1988
Brand: Fleer
Card #: 239
The 1988 Fleer set looks a little silly for any Cincinnati card - the blue and red stripes clash with the all red uniform! The real beauty of the card is on the back. Did you know that Barry Larkin had a batting average of .282 during the day and .226 at night? Did you know Barry Larkin had a batting percentage of .244 in 1987? Does anyone have a clue as to why Fleer used "percentage" in the stats section of the card but "average" in the little picture/table at the bottom of the card?

I remember the 87 topps. Not sure if I remember this one or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing a lot of people feel that way about the '88 Fleer set...
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I am done scanning my last 200 Austin Kearns cards (upon acquiring a new scanner) I am starting on my 500+ Larkins. Gonna be fun comparing cards!
