Have You Been to Nationals Park?

Just curious if anyone has gone to Nationals Park. What are your thoughts? Things to make sure you see/do, things to make sure you avoid? Let me know, I'll be watching the Reds vs. Nationals a week from Thursday!

It's a nice park but nothing special. Tickets are pricey and ushers are vigilant. Skip the overrated canned slop from Ben's Chili Bowl, get some Cincinatti chili mac from the Hard Times Cafe booth. Relish that your team is playing a pseudo-AAA team.

  2. Love the stadium. Nice, clean and great views. Went on a recent Friday when Pujols was a triple shy of the cycle. Tickets are priced twice what they should be (not just my opinion, look in the stands).

  3. I was just there in April, and saw the Braves play the Nats. If you go when the gates open in the outfield porch, chances are you can nab a practice home run ball or get one of the Reds players warming up to give you one. Then, when the main concourse opens, go hang out behind the visitors dugout, and you may get an autograph. Joshua & I got Brian McCann's auto and Jordan Schafer. The trick is to have a cute 11-year old with you.

You can find good prices for good seats on StubHub, but it wasn't very crowded, so you may be able to get cheap seats and move down.

  4. You'll be in town? I plan on trying to get together a Reds fan gathering after the game since it starts at 4:35.

  5. Oh, by the way, Nationals Park is pretty dull. Ticket prices are outrageous, the upper deck is a million miles from the field, and what views there are are mostly obscured. Looks a lot like Citizens Bank Park without the character.
