Alright, it's the first pack of the completely awesome Pack Wars out of two completely not-awesome repack boxes. For the first pack battle, it's the only pack of cards from a set I'm still trying to complete...
Pack #01: 2008 Upper Deck Spectrum
Box 1:
41. Roy Oswalt (-1 Astro, -5 for being Oswalt, Total: -6)
59. Carlos Beltran (0 points)
85. Ichiro (+7 blogger favorite!)
3059. Yankee Stadium Legacy - Elston Howard (+10 insert, -4 Yankee, Total: +6)
Ouch, out of the gate Box 1 snags one of the "Reds killers" and loses 5 points. The stupid Yankee Stadium Legacy card ended up cancelling out the Oswalt card...but only because I counted it as an insert and not a "total piece of junk" like I should have...
Total score: -6 + 0 + 7 + 6 = 7 points.
Box 2:
13. Daisuke Matsuzaka (-2 for being a Red Sox)
41. Roy Oswalt (-1 Astro, -5 for being Oswalt, Total: -6)
54. J.J. Hardy (-1 for being a Brewer)
DJ3. Derek Jeter Retrospectrum (+10 insert, -4 Yankee, +7 blogger favorite, Total: +13)
Apparently Box 2 didn't want to be left out of the "Reds killers" column and thus produced a second Roy Oswalt card...2 Oswalts, 2 Yankees, and a Red Sox in 8 cards...not a good start to the repack boxes - not to mention that I didn't get a single card that I needed!
Total score: -2 - 6 - 1 + 13 = 4 points
