Continuing the 2008 Topps Stadium Club Blaster Wars, it's time to crack open pack #2. Let's see who wins!
Pack 2
Blaster 1:
71. Grady Sizemore (+1 point, I've always liked Sizemore)
91. Jackie Robinson (+5, I don't care how many times I see this card, I love it every single time)
95. Honus Wagner (+5 points, another legend, another awesome card)
121. Matt Tolbert
90. Carlos Zambrano - First Day Issue
Total: +11 points
Blaster 2:
34. Brian Roberts (+2 points for the flying helmet, always cool)
43. Felix Hernandez
92. Mickey Mantle (+5 points for being a legend card, but then -2 for being a Yankee and -3 more for being Mickey Mantle in a Topps product. Seriously, there are so many other stars that don't get baseball cards yet Mantle gets a card in every single Topps set...or so it seems at least)
136. Jay Bruce (+6 points for being a Red)
114B. Michael Aubrey - First Day Issue
Total: +8 points
Standings so far:
Blaster 1: 26 points
Blaster 2: 16 points
Total cards knocked off my want list: 2
After two packs, the two half-off blasters are separated by 10 points. Who will reign supreme? Can Blaster 1 ride the wave of legends to victory or will Blaster 2 hit the proverbial ace on the river and win the whole thing? Only one way to find out. Stay tuned! Must have the Roberts card. A play at the plate plus he's knocking over one of the Rangers catchers.
