Barry Larkin
Year: 1992
Brand: Donruss
Card number: 185
Year: 1992
Brand: Donruss
Card number: 185
Variation: "period after "inc."
Of all the different Barry Larkin cards that I own, this particular card is one of the most aggravating. For every good feature of the card, there seems to be an equally bad feature. For instance:
Good: An action shot of Larkin in the field
Bad: It appears he is making a play at third, not at second (the more "natural" base for a shortstop to be making a play at).
Good: Action packed photo, dirt flying, striped socks, and a view of the outfield wall distance.
Bad: Who's the other player in the photo? You can only see enough of the player to guess...and get annoyed.
Good: The back of the card features a second photo of Larkin coupled with a lot of text and statistics.
Bad: The back is difficult to read, and the blue border coupled with the predomintely red-clad Larkin equals "blech" to the eyes.
All things considered, this isn't the best Larkin, but it's also not the worst card of Larkin that I own...and let's face it, every card can't be a winner!
