Card number: 465
While the 1992 Topps set seems to be a footnote in the baseball card set design of most collectors, I happen to really like the '92 design. The front offers a pleasing white border, complete with team color piping and (relatively) easy to read player name and team name on the front. The back of the white (cardboard stock) card gives Larkin's full MLB statistics, a brief write-up, and a picture of Riverfront Stadium (back when it was still around and sporting astroturf).
Unfortunately, while the design of the '92 Topps set is fine by me, this particular Larkin card is borderline dull and boring. Larkin is in the midst of completing a swing, much like millions of other pictures on millions of other cards...there's nothing unique about this photo which ultimately out weighs the positives that the set design brings with it.
