More Cal
2005 Upper Deck Classics
Pack 05
12. Bobby Doerr (Red Sox)
17. Cal Ripken Jr. (Orioles)
This is the sixth different Cal Ripken Jr. so far this group break! At this point, the Orioles look the team to have claimed - especially considering two of the aforementioned Ripkens are inserts!
21. Charlie Gehringer (Tigers)
23. Jimmie Foxx (Athletics)
Although Foxx played for the Philadelphia Athletics, it seems only fair to put Foxx in the Oakland A's pile since the Philadelphia Athletics eventually became the Oakland Athletics. Perhaps if I pull a second Foxx that one will go in the Phillies pile.
54. Joe Sewell (Indians)
71. Nellie Fox (White Sox)
I wonder what the chances are of having two different players with a last name of Fox (spelled differently) in the same pack are? Judging by this small sample size, I'd have to go with 100%!
74. Pedro Guerrero (Dodgers)
98. Lyman Bostock (Twins)

Finally I get some UD Classics. It's not like the A's and White Sox had a bunch of schmucks playing for them over the years - but they just seemed to get skipped over.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, if you had given Ol' Double X to the Phils, we would have had a problem... ;)
