Contest Results.

It's time for the final contest results (original contest announced here).  The entire Reds/Cardinals series was a complete disaster from the Reds point of view.  It began with Brandon Phillips starting a peeing match into the wind and ended up with the Reds getting swept right out of their own stadium, and into second place.

Here are the final results:

1.  How many did the Reds win?
Zero

2.  Who hit the most homeruns?

(tie)
Skip Schumaker 1
Ramon Hernandez 1
Yadier Molina 1
Colby Rasmus 1

3.  Number of saves per team

Cardinals:  1

4.  Players and/or managers will get ejected during the series (and for tie-breakers, who)?

2 (Dusty Baker & Tony LaRussa)

Final scores:
madding:  2 (plus tie-breaker point for naming the team with the save
TheJaw:  1 (plus tie-breaker point for naming the team with the save)
Don:  1
BABenny:  1 (plus tie-breaker point for naming the team with the save)
Tunguska:  1/2  (half of the saves correct)
Night Owl:  1/2 (half of ejections correct)
Adam E:  0
Dusto:  0
TheBrooklynMet:  0
Ryan:  0

And wouldn't you know it, a Cardinal fan even wins the contest!  That makes it a total sweep for the Cardinals - hopefully the Reds can exact their revenge when they visit St. Louis in September...  Madding, send me an email with your address and I'll get your prize out to you!  To everyone else, thanks for entering!

  1. Another dominating contest entry by me. Congrats to the winner!

  2. I felt like a cocky bastard when I picked the Reds to get swept, but I really thought the pitching matchups favored the Cards. Had Suppan or whoever is replacing him in the rotation taken the hill, it could have been a different story.
