Group Break Announcement! 1999 Pacific Now Included!

Thanks to Smedcards agreeing to claim a couple of additional teams, I decided to "pick up the remaining three (Giants, Pirates, and Dodgers, along with the Reds) and consider the group break full.  With that, as promised, comes a fifth box for the group break - 1999 Pacific.  That now means the group break has 1,288 cards in it!

Let's first take a look at the 1999 Pacific box.  The box is a hobby box with 36 packs (10 cards per pack).  There are a bunch of inserts - according to the pack we can expect to find:
Platinum Blue Parallel:  1:73 packs
Dynagon Diamond 4:37 packs (weird odds there)
Titanium Diamond Variation:  99 serial-numbered sets
Team Checklists:  2:37 packs
Gold Crown Die-Cuts:  1:37 packs
Cramer's Choice Awards:  299 serial-numbered sets
Timelines:  199 serial-numbered sets

The pack also claims it is "loaded with rookies!"  Let's not delay any longer...

Pack 01:

41.  Denny Neagle - Braves
136.  Jim Thome - Indians
164.  Luis Gonzalez - Tigers
184.  Moises Alou - Astros
205.  Jeff King - Royals
317.  Scott Spiezio - Athletics
334.  Kevin Sefcik - Phillies
381.  Stan Javier - Giants
423.  Juan Gonzalez - Rangers
439.  Carlos Delgado - Blue Jays
I have no idea why this scanned so funky.  The card isn't bent or "wavy" in any way...but the scan sure makes it look like it is!

Overall, the base cards are pretty nice.  They have a nice sheen to them - and I actually like the simplistic design.  The back of the cards are also fairly nice, though my personal preference is to have the card number near the top of the card rather than in the bottom corner.  Overall, I think people should enjoy adding these cards to their team collections - the full bleed photos really make this set feel a bit fancier than the Collector's Choice set!
