Group Break Results: New York Yankees

A number of people asked me to update the group scoreboard - seeing how there was such interest, I've decided to do one better:  I'm going to show off the best card, worst card, plus any interesting cards (in my eyes at least) of all the group break slots, one at a time.

New York Yankees
Claimed by Daniel

Best card(s):

This is an easy call - the Yankees are almost always a "safe bet" in a group break - and this time was no exception. The Yankees even ended up with one of the non-guaranteed hits out of the Cracker Jack box - this Take Me Out to the Ball Game, game-worn uniform card of Jason Giambi is really nice, and definitely the best of the Yankee pulls!

Worst card(s):

The no number card of Alex Rodriguez wins the "award" for worst card seeing how I am a set collector and having the base version of a card be the no-numbered one really, really bugs me.

Card(s) of interest:

I'm definitely not a Yankee fan, but seeing the four Fleer EX Yankee cards together really speaks to me as how classic the Yankees colors are.  That's a fine looking group of cards!

Final Tally (after all non-insert duplicates removed):
Base:  42
Inserts/Short Prints/Parallels:  8
Relics/Autos:  1

    Yes, if the Yankees had made it, their presence would have been felt here. Even if they couldn't get a hold of that many New York Yankees tickets you just know some Yankees fan would roll up to McCovey Cove in his yacht, knocking over the kayaks in its wake and shouting "Hip, hip... Jorge!" over a megaphone.
