It's time to crack open the third box of the group break - 2000 Topps Stadium Club. According to the pack wrapper, we can expect to find a bunch of inserts - many more exist than in most of the other boxes in this group break!
With that said, let's start the party!
2000 Topps Stadium Club
Pack 01
29. Todd Zeile - Rangers
It's fitting that the first card I pull is a Texas card...I seem to get more Rangers than anyone else! Seriously, if you want a safe bet in my group break, just pick the Rangers! On a card specific note: I really like the horizontal shots, the photography in the set is mostly top notch, as per usual in Stadium Club.
73. Eric Young - Dodgers
This card looks like it went through a war zone. The back is dinged up at the top right corner, and the entire card has suffered from severe damage along the one side (though you can't really tell the extent of the damage from the scan). The only good news is that this is the only card in the pack that appears to have any damage.
74. Bob Abreu - Phillies
144. Lee Stevens - Rangers
Like many issues of Stadium Club, the backs of the cards feature batting (or pitching) splits based on the previous season. There is also a brief blurb called "The Bottom Line" which serves as the extent of the text on the card!
164. Pedro Martinez - Red Sox
BB5. Ken Griffey Jr. - Bats of Brilliance - Mariners
The Bats of Brilliance cards are seeded 1 in every 12 packs, so this is a nice pull. Looking at the insert set checklist, I'd say this is the best of card from the insert set!
