Group Break: 2001 Topps HD - Pack 02

The second pack out of the Topps High Definition back turned out to be a mutant pack.  Instead of the 4 promised cards, we ended up with five base cards!  For as nice as each base card is, that's a considerable gain for some team!  Let's see which teams are represented!

2001 Topps High Definition
Pack 02:

10.  Mike Lieberthal - Phillies

66.  Jeff Bagwell - Astros

I seem to pull a heckuva lot of Bagwell cards.  For anyone who collects the Astros (or claims them in my group breaks), you are in luck!
76.  Trot Nixon - Red Sox
The patriotic banners in the background are a nice touch!
98.  Mariano Rivera - Yankees

108.  Chipper Jones - Braves

The Chipper card is part of the Superstars of the Game insert set, though it is numbered as part of the base set.  Each Superstar of the Game is seeded 1:6 packs (or approximately 3 per box).  My most up-to-date Beckett (which is from February of 2009) says each card in the insert set is worth at least $1.25...but since that was in 2009 dollars I'd estimate it must be worth a gazillion point eleventy dollars today.

  1. I buy a beckett magazine once a 12-18 months or so and I happen to have just picked one up (December 2010). The minor stars 101-120 (Superstars) are top end at $3.00. I really want the Piazza #107 from that set so see what you can do to make that happen please.
