Larkin may not have been elected to the Hall of Fame - but Whitey Herzog sure has some nice words for him on this card: "If I were picking a team in the National League, I almost think I would pick Larkin first." Those are bold words coming from a then-Cardinals manager!
Unfortunately, those words are probably the best thing about this card. Like most "art", I waiver back and forth on whether or not I like the card front...at the time of this post, I'm leaning towards "not liking" it. The back of the card is boring by today's standards as well (no photo, statistics, etc.) BUT compared to ther 1990 cards it was exciting!
Hopefully he gets his due next year...
