It's time for the first pack out of our second box, this time: 2000 Fleer Showcase:
2000 Fleer Showcase:
Pack 1:
7. Curt Schilling - Diamondbacks
My scanner makes all the cards look blue, but really they are all simply really, really shiny!
40. Tom Glavine - Braves
59. Billy Wagner - Astros
65. Randy Johnson - Diamondbacks
I've scanned the back of the Johnson card just so you can see how easy it is to read the card numbers. As a set collector, I appreciate that. Too bad I never opened a single pack of this stuff until the group break a decade plus after it's initial release!
93. Erubiel Durazo - Diamondbacks
If I told you at the end of two packs the Braves would be leading the field in terms of total base cards, you probably wouldn't be terribly surprised. If I told you that the Diamondbacks would be tied with the Braves for the lead, well, that would probably surprise most people. Furthermore, thanks to the D-backs insert in the first pack of the break, Arizona actually has 4 (out of a total of 11) cards thus far! That's the fun of a group break, you never know which team(s) will be hot and which will not be. Of course, it's also super early and there are a lot of promised hits yet to be uncovered...who will "win" in the end is yet to be determined.
