The Topps 205 box has relics seeded at an overall rate of 1 in 12 packs. Now that we've opened up 11 packs, we found one of those hits! Since the box contains only twenty packs, if we have a little bit of luck we'll end up with two relics. It's always nice to pull one relic sort of early when you are hoping to beat the odds!
2003 Topps 205:
Packs 10 & 11:
19. Carlos Delgado - Blue Jays
38. Tim Hudson - Athletics
39. Tim Salmon - Angels
51. Sammy Sosa - Cubs
53. Craig Biggio - Astros
59. Barry Zito - Athletics
61. Carlos Beltran - Royals
107. Phil Nevin - Padres
123. Rocco Baldelli - Rays
124. Joe Borchard - White Sox
140. Joey Gomes - Rays
It's only fair that the Yankees get one of these folder cards to themselves after having to share three previous folders with other teams.
Minis:
50. Alex Rodriguez - Rangers (Polar Bear)
A couple of common minis - at least they each of pretty good players. The Oswalt is the first insert for the Astros - I always like when all the teams end up with something besides base cards!
And finally, the relic:
Pedro Martinez belongs to group relic group F in the set (he's the only one in that group). Group F relics are seeded 1:608 packs!! This is a huge pickup for the Red Sox based on those odds! It also means that for two consecutive group breaks I've managed to pull a card with odds rarer than 1:500 packs!
