It's time to bust open the last two "Lumber" packs from the box of Fleer Showcase. I had expected one relic per pack "type" but as you'll soon see, that was obviously incorrect. Did we get cheated out of a relic in this box OR was my theory of one relic per pack type incorrect? I guess time will tell... We did beat the odds in a different (good) way though - read on!
2003 Fleer Showcase:
Packs 7 & 8 (Lumber):
2. Curt Schilling - Diamondbacks
11. Bobby Abreu - Phillies
14. Sean Burroughs - Padres
16. Jorge Posada - Yankees
18. Richie Sexson - Brewers
25. Darin Erstad - Angels
28. Jason Giambi - Yankees
33. Roger Clemens - Yankees
128. Freddy Sanchez - Red Sox
We already pulled a serially-numbered parallel of this card, now we got the short print version of the card. The Red Sox are starting to rake in the good stuff!
7 of 10 TS. Thunder Sticks: Carlos Delgado - Blue Jays
Here's where we beat the odds - this is the second Thunder Sticks card out of the Lumber packs. The Lumber Sticks cards are seeded 1:8, so we basically got twice what we should have! It wouldn't be an adequate substitute for a hit however, so let's keep our fingers crossed that my theory of one hit per pack type was incorrect! I still love these insert cards however - it's a great, simple design that really works in my book!
