Delivery Time! This Card is Cool, and So is This One, and This One is Too!

Over the course of the last few months, almost all of my time has been devoted to my own schooling and my teaching.  Although I tried to carve out a few minutes most days to devote to the blog - and I think I managed to have at least one post every day so far this year - I haven't had the time that I'd like to spend with my baseball cards.

Now that the semester is over at both schools, I can spend a bit more time preparing posts and working out trades with all my great readers (you are a great reader right?  Good - check out my want list then!)   In fact, my wife told me that one my jobs while I'm at home for the next couple of weeks is to clean off my desk (and the nearby table) of all the card stacks so that she doesn't have to look at my mess any more...

I'm slowly doing my husbandly duties - here's another trade envelope to feast your eyes upon (maybe I shouldn't write posts before I eat lunch)...  This one comes from Ryan over at This Card is Cool.  Ryan is about to move over to Japan - a place that I'd love to visit (especially since I happen to also love origami in addition to baseball cards)!

First up, Ryan knocked a bunch of 2010 National Chicle cards off my want list - eight of them to be exact.  I am now only missing 23 more cards from the set - maybe I'll be able to finish this set after all!  Here's what I'm still missing in case you have any of these lying around...
 2010 National Chicle Base: 276, 278, 285, 286, 287, 293, 295, 296, 298, 299, 300, 302, 303, 308, 311, 312, 315, 317, 320, 321, 324, 328, 330
As for what I'm no longer missing:

208.  Luis Aparicio
238.  Johnny Mize

A lot of the National Chicle set is hit and miss - this particular Mize card is a definite hit in my book!  I love the sketch, I love the muted colors, and I love how the card sort of comes together in a nice way.  The only thing I don't love about the card is that it is a card of a Cardinal.

243.  Stan Musial
266.  Carlos Carrasco

As I said above, for every good card there is a different card that is equally bad.  I don't find this particular Carrasco card appealing on any level.

297.  Ryne Sandberg
306.  Chipper Jones
323.  Tobi Stoner
325.  Tommy Manzella

I love the 1991 Topps set so this card is a winner in my book - even if it looks like a card that I'm capable of sketching...

In addition to the above Chicles, Ryan also threw in a couple of Barry Larkins that were new for me (but you'll have to wait for their entry in my ongoing Barry Larkin Collection Series to see them).

And finally, Ryan threw in a Joe Morgan card from the Update set.

I didn't buy any Updates (nor do I plan to) so this was also a nice inclusion!  Thanks for the cards Ryan, and good luck with your move.  And, as always, if anyone else would like to trade - check out my want list and make an offer!

I'm glad you can enjoy the cards, and good luck with the rest of Chicle. SPs are a pain in the rear if you ask me!
