Group Break: Upper Deck Decade 1970s Baseball

Here's the box that I know many of you have been waiting for - the Upper Deck 1970s Baseball box!  As I mentioned in the original sign up post, each box contains a three card Pinstripe Exclusive pack (which I'll open at a later date).  For now though, let's crack open the first two packs from the box.

Before that though, I should take the time to thank the group break sponsor (once again):  Baseball Card Exchange.

Upper Deck Decade 1970s Baseball
Pack 01:
4.  Reggie Jackson - Athletics

79.  Ozzie Smith - Padres

97.  Mike Hargrove - Rangers

123.  Decade Dateline:  Lou Brock - Cardinals

SP1.  Super Powers:  Reggie Jackson - Yankees

It was a Reggie Jackson hot pack wasn't it?  I guess the pack win goes to the Yankees (for the fourth time already) since they landed the "better" of the two Reggie cards.  The Super Powers are seeded 1:23 packs meaning that's essentially a box hit for the Yankees!

Pack 02:
30.  Hal McRae - Royals
56.  Keith Hernandez - Cardinals
113.  Decade Dateline:  Reggie Jackson - Athletics
139.  Decade Dateline:  Thurmon Munson - Yankees
149.  Award Winners:  Johnny Bench - Reds

Since I'm the one picking the pack winner, this one's an easy choice!  The Reds finally get on the board with a really nice Bench card.  That's also the third Reggie Jackson from the box and we've only opened up two packs thus far!
