Group Break: 2002 Fleer Showcase - Three More Packs

Happy Friday afternoon.  Here's three more packs to help you get through the last few hours of the work day.

Pack 15:
12.  Chuck Knoblauch - Royals
17.  Doug Mientkiewicz - Twins
64.  Curt Schilling - Diamondbacks
92.  Tsuyoshi Shinjo - Giants
110.  C.C. Sabathia - Indians

If I ever decide to chase another set from 2002, I think I will seriously consider the Fleer Showcase set.  The set reminds me of Topps Gallery crossed with UD Masterpieces and I like it.  As for the pack, I've gotta hand it to CC as he's probably the best of the group - plus he fills out the card nicely.

Pack 16:
1.  Albert Pujols - Cardinals
27.  Rafael Furcal - Braves
77.  Troy Glaus - Angels
119.  Mike Hampton - Rockies
10 of 22:  Derek Jeter Collection - Derek Jeter - Yankees #0460/1000

The Derek Jeter Collection card is extremely foily and clearly doesn't belong in the set (think Chrome cards in Topps Heritage).  That said, a serially numbered Derek Jeter card is a nice pick-up for the Yankees, a team that has done VERY well this break!

Pack 17:
7.  Bobby Abreu - Phillies
62.  Phil Nevin - Padres
79.  Greg Maddux - Braves
105.  Ryan Klesko - Padres
126.  Avant:  Derek Jeter - Yankees

As if the last pack wasn't enough, now the Yankees scored our second Avant card of the box.  The Avant cards are basically framed artwork and are exceedingly nice.  If there were a Larkin Avant card, I would have gone to eBay to buy one by now, that's how much I like these!  Congrats New York on your seventh win (now only one behind Atlanta for the group break lead).  And apologies to the Padres - if it weren't for the Avant Jeter card, you would finally have landed your first pack win...them's the breaks I guess when it comes to group breaks.
