Group Break: The Final Three Packs from the Fleer Showcase Box

The 2002 Fleer Showcase box promised three hits - and we already found all three (Piazza, Bonds, and Randy Johnson).  All told, it's hard to complain about that trio of players for your hits!  Speaking of trios, there are still three packs remaining - could we beat the odds on another box in the break and find a fourth relic?  Let's find out together.

Pack 1 of 3:
84.  Jeff Kent - Giants
88.  Pokey Reese - Pirates
95.  Robert Fick - Tigers
106.  Ben Sheets - Brewers
158.  Ben Howard - Padres #0254/1500

Congrats to the San Diego Padres on their first serially numbered card of the break.  For a break that didn't seem to offer much in the way of serially numbered cards, we sure have pulled quite a few!  In fact, we've had eleven such cards (plus four serially numbered relics and one serially numbered autograph).  I hope everyone is happy with the break given the impressive totals thus far!

Pack 2 of 3:
54.  Pat Burrell - Phillies
66.  Aubrey Huff - Rays
86.  Freddy Garcia - Mariners
111.  Eric Munson - Tigers
9 of 22:  Derek Jeter Collection - Derek Jeter - Yankees #0947/1000

Imagine that, a pack after writing how we have gotten a lot more serially numbered cards than I expected and *bam* there's another one!  The Yankees have seriously destroyed the competition this break - this is their ninth pack win!

Pack 3 of 3:
9.  Preston Wilson - Marlins
44.  Darin Erstad - Angels
74.  Shawn Green - Dodgers
Sweet Sigs:  Mike Sweeney - Royals #871/965

Sweet Sigs indeed!  The Sweeney autograph is on a piece of wood and is serially numbered out of 965.  A great pick-up for the Royals - nice to see Kansas City scoring something that is usually reserved for the "big boys."  Between the game-used base relic, the Tex auto, and now this auto, it's been a fun break.  This is also the Royals fifth pack win of the break - a good showing all the way around!

Once again, we ended up with a box that beat the stated odds.  I'm guessing the autograph was the "extra" hit to go along with the three relics.  It's hard to argue with the merits of the Showcase box, I think I'd happily include another box of the product in a future box break - what do you guys (and gals) think about that?
