As I mentioned in a few previous posts, I went on a four day, three game baseball tour with my dad, two uncles, and one of my uncle's friends. We left central PA on Thursday, May 3 and returned on Sunday, May 6.
Total distance: 1,404 miles
Total hours in car: 24
I had a few requests for photos from the trip - so here are a few from Chicago. Consider this the revival of the photo blog (aka, phlogging).
We watched the Dodgers take on the Cubs on a cold, blustery day. Game time temperature was about 50 degrees with a 15+ mph wind blowing in off of the lake the entire day. It was freezing - but it was still fun. I had never been to Wrigley Field - it's definitely a place that all baseball fans ought to visit at least once in their lifetime.
All told, it was a fun (but cold) game! I will have full reports from the other two ballparks at some point - probably later this week!

You know I had to have nachos. Unfortunately, Wrigley's nachos were (by far) the worst of the three ballparks I visited. |

Awesome photos, dude!
ReplyDeleteHeh... phlogging. Somehow I feel somewhat responsible for that nasty term. lol
Looks like home. I'm envious.
ReplyDeleteI can never order nachos at the ballpark. The "cheese" grosses me out, and the mess potential is too great.
ReplyDeleteI used to live 4 blocks from there, wrigleyville is a fun place
ReplyDeleteHmmmm - I think your map seems to be missing the better par of Ohio :)
ReplyDeleteA little shocked that you won't be stopping by Progressive Field on your way to catch a Pirates game. Though I love Great American Ballpark, I don't think it compares to Progressive.
ReplyDeleteTopher: Thanks, and yes, it's probably your fault - but once I used the post tag I couldn't go back!
ReplyDeleteHackenbush: It was a lot of fun, but really cold!
Night Owl: Yeah, I don't think there is any cheese in that orange-ish product, but it still tasted ok. I had much better nachos in Pittsburgh (but I didn't think to get a photo of it).
Brad: I wish I had the opportunity to walk around the outside of the stadium but it was too darn cold. I'll have to go back sometime in the summer I guess.
lifetimetopps: Yeah, no trip "down south" this time around!
Reds Card Collector: We had to choose between Detroit or Cleveland - but more of us (including me) had never seen Detroit's new stadium so the Tigers game won out).
That sounds like a fun trip. I got to go to Wrigley last year for the first time ever for the second game of the year. And they won so that was fun. My wife's a big Cubs fan so it was even more fun for her, well maybe not.
