Over the past week, I've had plenty of Topps Archives posts - including a variety of blaster breaks. Today, I want to highlight the final two blasters that I purchased. I'm not going to list every single card this time since most of the base cards are duplicates...but I will show off a few of the highlights.
2012 Topps Archives:
Blaster #6:
I managed to land 23 more base cards that I needed - an impressive total considering how many blasters I've opened at this point! Unfortunately, my luck didn't hold with the short prints. Each blaster contains two short prints - but I only managed to get one new one. The duplicate happened to be of Sandy Koufax - a card that I'm fairly confident I can trade away in exchange for one (or more) short prints that I still need (Editors note: this card is already traded away!).
While the base cards were a positive, the inserts were a negative. I didn't pull anything rare - not even a deckle edge card. Instead, I managed to get a pair of Archive reprints (Duke Snider and Eddie Murray) - both of which were new to me. I also pulled a Troy Tulowitzki 1967 sticker card that I didn't yet have. After that though, it was three different inserts that were duplicates. A pair of cloth stickers (Rod Carew and Joe Morgan) and a Topps 3D card of Matt Kemp.

Blaster #7:
By the time I opened up the seventh blaster, I figured I would have a full base set (at a minimum). As it turned out, I am 19 cards short both before and after opening Blaster #7 - yep, a blaster full of trade bait!
Luckily, I did much better with the inserts in this blaster. I pulled two short prints (Ken Griffey Jr. and Von Hayes) both of which I needed for my set. I also pulled a Deckle Edge card of Bob Gibson that I needed and two more Archive reprints that I needed (George Brett and Juan Marichal). My 3D card was of Felix Hernandez (also needed). Heck, even my Cloth sticker was new to me - Giancarlo Stanton. The only duplicate insert was another Troy Tulowitzki sticker.
And the big hit of the blaster? My third relic thus far - and the best to date. Orlando Cepeda!
Good stuff - even if I didn't complete one measly base set with 7 blasters!
