I think the group break is moving along quickly - but I'd like to speed it up even more (mostly because I'm dying to open my own case but promised myself that I wouldn't do so until the entire group break case was opened, posted, and sorted). In order to speed up the break even more, here's the first half of box #6.
Box #6:
The box topper was a Baseball Highlights card (another cabinet card so it doesn't go anywhere).
Pack 01:
What's in a Name: 44. Jimmy Rollins - Phillies
Reg. mini: 109. Tim Lincecum - Giants
Pack 02:
Historical Turning Points: Treaty of Versailles
Base SP: 331. Carl Crawford - Red Sox
Reg. mini: 143. Nick Hagadone - Indians
Pack 03:
What's in a Name: 84. Albert Pujols - Angels
Reg. mini: 161. Freddie Freeman - Braves
Pack 04:
Willow Cove: Tom Chance
Giants of the Deep: Blue Whale
Base SP: 320. Jonathan Papelbon - Phillies
Pack 05:
Willow Cove: Deputy Danny Young
Base SP: 334. Adrian Beltre - Rangers
A&G back mini: Colby Rasmus - Blue Jays
Pack 06:
What's in a Name: 33. Tony Perez - Reds
Reg. mini SP: 345. Nolan Ryan
I love this photo of the Ryan Express - it's even better in mini form. A great pick-up for DutchCardGuy who has the Astros to go along with his New York teams (and the Giants for good measure).
Pack 07:
What's in a Name: 66. Sparky Anderson - Tigers
Man's Best Friend: Saint Bernard
Framed auto: AGA-BB. Brandon Belt - Giants
What a great pack that was! We landed another dog card (a set I love if you haven't noticed) AND we landed our fourth autograph of the break (and the second for DutchCardGuy)!
Pack 08:
Baseball Sketch: 16. David Freese - Cardinals
Base SP: 340. Marty Hogan - (racquetballer)
Reg. mini: 136. Jacoby Ellsbury - Red Sox
I've said it before, but it bears repeating: The 2012 Allen & Ginter sketch cards are much better than previous years (except for the Tom Seaver sketch abomination).
Pack 09:
Historical Turning Points: Signing of the Magna Carta
Base SP: 317. Jason Heyward - Braves
Black border mini: 270. Anthony Rizzo - Cubs
Pack 10:
What's in a Name: 71. Joe Mauer - Twins
A&G back mini: 287. Hiroki Kuroda - Yankees
Pack 11:
Willow Cove: Price Laughton
Base SP: 311. Bob Gibson - Cardinals
Reg. mini SP: 333. Kelly Johnson - Blue Jays
Pack 12:
What's in a Name: 57. Josh Beckett - Red Sox
Reg. mini: 229. Ichiro - Mariners
A solid first half to the box. It's nice when we pull an autograph - and Belt's probably a decent pull there. Plenty of good minis this time around! Look for the second half of the box later today!
