Before we get to the final 12 packs of the break, I have to say thank you to a few different groups of people. First, the fine folks at Atlanta Sports Cards. Without their support, this break wouldn't have happened.
Second, I want to thank all the group break participants, without you this break wouldn't have happened either. Finally, I want to thank all my readers (both old and new). I know it's been a TON of Ginter on my blog over the last week or so...but I hope it was still entertaining.
With that said, let's finish this break!
Box #12:
Pack 13:
Name: 91. Alex Rodriguez - Yankees
A&G back: 158. Melky Cabrera - Giants
Pack 14:
Willow Cove: Greg Keeley
Base SP: 320. Jonathan Papelbon - Phillies
Black border mini: 269. Mike Schmidt - Phillies
A nice Phillies pack!
Pack 15:
Willow Cove: Frank Kraft
Base SP: 311. Bob Gibson - Cardinals
Reg. mini: 287. Hiroki Kuroda - Yankees
Pack 16:
Name: 74. Tom Seaver - Mets
Culinary Curiosities: Hakarl
Hakarl is fermented shark...shark who's flesh is poisonous until it is buried for months and exhumed in a state of decomposition. Ew.
Pack 17:
Name: 93. Billy Butler - Royals
No name mini: Edwin Jackson - Nationals
Woo, a surprise hit late in the break! This is our third no number mini card - and the second for the Nationals!! A big congrats to Dan who picked up the Nats.
Pack 18:
Building: Burj Khalifa
Base SP: 331. Carl Crawford - Red Sox
Reg. mini: 182. Colby Rasmus - Blue Jays
Pack 19:
Building: Metlife Building
Base SP: Jason Heyward - Braves
A&G back mini: 14. Nick Markakis - Orioles
Pack 20:
Name: 53. Justin Morneau - Twins
Reg. mini: 78. Joe Mauer - Twins
A nice pack for the Twins.
Pack 21:
Name: 3. Ryan Howard - Phillies
Reg. mini: 142. Jose Reyes - Marlins
Framed relic: AGR-ELO. Evan Longoria - Rays
That's the third (and easily the best) relic for the Rays. The Rays join the Rangers and Cubs as teams with 3+ relics/autos in the group break!
Pack 22:
Willow Cove: Tom's Place
Base SP: 322. Sergio Santos
A&G back mini: 168. Jason Kipnis - Indians
Pack 23:
Name: Don Mattingly - Yankees
Reg. mini: 226. Jim Thome - Phillies
Pack 24:
Building: Petronas Towers
Base SP: 314. Bruce Buffer (announcer)
Man's Best Friend: Shetland Sheepdog
Whew! That was a ton of opening and typing - but I hope it was worth it for everyone involved! Now for the sorting...
Hope you enjoyed the break!!
Finally, ever want to see what a full case of Ginter looks like on a table (waiting to be fully sorted)?
Wow!
And now, here are a few of the hits propped up on my own unopened case (just to be on the up-n-up with everyone).
I can finally dig into my own case, can't wait. I hope it is as good as this one was - three no numbered minis, a rip card #/50, a card #/25, and plenty of non-baseball relics made this a great break if you ask me (not to mention the Larkin relic)!
Note: I have scheduled a post for the randomization of the non-baseball hits to go live tomorrow morning, don't miss it!
