In a strange twist, I acquired the 2004 gold parallel version of Barry Larkin before the regular version. The regular 2004 base cards are sort of dull (though I like the little baseball guy silhouette in the corner). However, the gold parallels really "pop" because the team color border acts as a perfect frame for the action shot. The back of Larkin's card is kind of boring (mostly due to the full statistics since he had a long, illustrious career by the time 2004 rolled around). That said, despite the boring look I still appreciate the back because I like having full statistics on my flagship Topps cards!
