International Travel Inspired Collection!

As I approach the big three-oh later this year, I can look back on my first three decades with a sense of pride and happiness.  Some of that happiness is a direct result of all the traveling that I have been fortunate enough to do.  I began my international travels almost a decade ago with a trip to England (while chaperoning an overseas camp trip).  My chaperoning gig then proceeded to take me to Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, and Greece.  For the record, I've managed exactly two trips that weren't "work":  one to Italy last year and the other was a cruise at the beginning of this summer to Bermuda, Haiti, San Juan, and St. Maarten.

Each of the places that I've visited are associated with a certain memory for me.  For instance, Australia brings back memories of the Sydney Opera House - a truly magnificent structure!

I wish I could have had the opportunity to watch a show at the Opera House - but even without that opportunity, I did get to go on a great tour of the facility which made me respect the building even more!

Although I loved the Opera House, I think the greatest building that I've ever been to in person is the Collosium in Rome, Italy.

It's amazing how much of the ancient structure still stands - and when you delve into the history of the place..."wow" doesn't begin to explain it but it's hard to utter much more than that!

Despite the grandeur of the Opera House and the historical wonderment of the Collosium, my favorite country that I've visited is neither Australia nor Italy.  My overall favorite place is actually the country of Greece!
Home of the Greek Olympics!

So when I saw this Currency card available on eBay, I knew I couldn't resist picking it up for my collection.

I now own three of the Currency cards - and should you have any for trade, well check out my various trade bait pages (including my 2012 Allen & Ginter trade bait page) and maybe we could work out a trade!

Finally, for those of you have traveled:  Where is your favorite place that you've visited?  I'd love to hear about your adventures...and maybe I can start planning my own next trip!

  1. Alas, all of my international travel has been work related, so I never really got to do much of the tourist thing, but I would definitely want to go back to Paris. I got do a few things, but I didn't get to the one place I really wanted to visit: the Musee D'Orsay.
