Barry Larkin
Year: 1996 (but published in 1995)
Brand: Upper Deck Collector's Choice
Insert set: You Make the Play
Card number: 20 (Stolen Base)
This is the second version of the Barry Larkin card from the 1996 Upper Deck Collector's Choice You Make the Play insert set. Unlike the first version (which was a groundout), this card is one that you would probably want to draw...that is, assuming that you knew how to play the game (which I certainly do not). Although I appreciate every single Barry Larkin card in my collection, this is definitely one of the more boring "parallels" in that everything is the same except the words in the top and bottom black bars. Heck, even the little one sentence "blurb" is the same on both versions of the card. It's obvious that Upper Deck didn't put a whole lot of time and energy in the design and execution of the set.
