A TCDB Surprise Card from mpdillard25!

Nachos Grande Group Break Sign-Ups Are Live! Sign-Up Now!

A new year brings new things to Nachos Grande - or at least a new group break!  As usual, I've tried to find a variety of boxes with the hopes of finding something interesting for everyone.  Here are the details:

1 team of your choice:  $20.00
1 team of your choice plus 1 random team:  $22.00

1.  Please leave a comment below with the team(s) you are claiming.
2.  Send PayPal payment to:  fanofreds (dot) auctions (at) gmail (dot) com (the same email that is in my profile).  I would appreciate all payments sent as "gifts."
3.  Send me an email (to the same address as above) with the following information:
  • Your user name
  • The team(s) you claimed
  • The email address you sent payment from
  • Your mailing address
I ask that everyone do the above three steps, even if I have traded with you many times - it makes packaging the cards a much, much quicker task for me.  Thanks!

The group break will include 6 different boxes (plus a bonus if the break fills up entirely - and quickly):

Box #1:
1997 Pinnacle Xpress:

I have no idea what exactly this box is...but it looked interesting so I bought one for the group break.  According to the box, you get an 8-card Master Deck, and 8 card hobby pack, 2 game cards, and the crown jewel:  a die cast metal card.  I'm guessing this will provide someone with a fairly unique card!  The one downside of the metal card is that there is a chance that we get one of the rare redemption cards (which would stink now).

Box #2:
2000 Topps Finest (Series 2):

The Topps Finest series has been a group break favorite so here's another box (this time from 2000 Series 2).  The box includes 24 packs with 6 cards per pack so there should be a nice haul for most teams.  The box claims that there are autographed Finest Moments, Refractors, and Die-Cut Gold Refractors to look for.

Box #3:
2004 Upper Deck Play Ball:

I've wanted to bust a box of this product for quite some time, though I don't think I've ever owned a single card from the set.  Each box has 2 game-used cards (on average) which apparently also include autographed cards.  As a whole, this is another 24 pack box (with 5 cards per pack).  There are quite a few inserts and serially numbered goodies in the set as well - including die-cut parallels.

Box #4:
2006 Flair Showcase:

Another group break favorite - Flair Showcase!  This box has 18 packs with 5 cards per pack...and as you would expect, there are a bunch of inserts in the set.  Although the box doesn't list specific odds, it does say that there is either a short print or an insert in every pack which means the box should have at least 18 such cards.  Even better, there is a Fresh Ink or Autographics signature card in every box (and a total of 2 game-used cards per box on average).  This should be a lot of fun to open.

Box #5:
1992 Upper Deck All-Star Fanfest:

This is a complete set of 54 cards that was given out by Upper Deck at the All-Star game in San Diego back in 1992.  You can find the entire checklist online so you know exactly what your team will get!  This is basically a "throw in" box but I though it'd be a fun addition for the team collectors since most of us probably don't have any cards from the set.

Box #6:
2005 Upper Deck Past Time Pennants Baseball:

Another box that I can't wait to bust!  This one has a Mitchell and Ness Wool Pennant in very box (which look cool on the box cover) along with 2 signatures per box.  There are a total of 20 packs in the box (5 cards per pack).  Other goodies include serially numbered parallels and dual signature cards.  If we get really lucky (1 in 20 boxes), we'll get an autographed pennant which would be extra awesome!

----

As you can see, the group break has a little bit of everything (but best of all, autographs!).  For the price of a blaster (or a blaster plus tax if you take the two team option), you get a pretty good chance at autographs, a metal card, die-cuts, inserts, serially numbered cards, All-Star cards, and relics.  I'm expecting the group break to fill up quickly - or at least I'm hoping it does because I can't wait to start ripping packs.  As an additional incentive to get the break filled quickly - if it does I'll include 10 packs of Donruss Americana (with any hits/inserts in the pack randomized to the team(s) without any hits in the break).  In order for the bonus to apply, the break must be filled no later than Sunday, January 6th at 8:00 PM EST.

Here are the available teams - remember it's $20 for 1 team of your choice or $22 for 2 teams (one of your choice, one random).
