The Big Game Is Here!

Well, it's finally time to play the Harbowl or whatever cheesy name they are giving the game.  With all of my work (both lesson planning and snow shoveling), I haven't had much time to watch the likes of ESPN...which is just as well because I don't need to hear another word about Ray Lewis.  He take his deer antlers and retire yesterday as far as I'm concerned.

I'm planning to watch the game tonight (as will most of you I'm guessing) but I can't say I'm overly excited about the match up.  So far, I think the team that I've rooted for has lost every single game in the NFL playoffs (to be fair, there were a couple of games where I had no rooting interest - such as the NFC Championship).

As a Steelers fan, I don't know who to root for in the Super Bowl.  On the one hand, the Ravens are the scum* of the earth.  On the other hand, the 49ers would tie the Steelers with six Super Bowl Championships all time if they were to win.

*overreaction to be sure.

Either team represents a threat to the Steelers if they win, albeit in totally different ways.  That said, if Pittsburgh can't figure out how to either keep Big Ben healthy OR get a new quarterback (plus an RB, and both an O- and D-line) then it probably won't matter for a number of years.

I was going to do some football related contest but it turns out that I don't have much in the way of football cards.  In fact, I don't have a single 49er or Raven card in my collection now - I've traded them all away over the years.  With that, I guess I'll just say enjoy the game!

PS:  Out of curiosity, can you see my "Cheese Lovers" followers widget on my blog (it should be on the right hand side at the bottom of the page.  For a long time, my followers were growing fairly steady but it's basically completely stalled since I redesigned my blog.  I'm curious if the widget is even showing up - or perhaps no one bothers to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page?  Thanks!

PSS:  Samuel (from the Daily Dimwit) sent me a link to Mathematically Perfect Nachos - something that I simply had to re-share here because, well....it's Nachos with math, how could I not?!

  1. The "Cheese Lovers" area is there, but there is no number listed. I'm using Firefox, if that matters any.

And to be picky, your "Site Meter" is cutting off the list digit partially.
