Brand: Topps Big
Card number: 74
When you think about, the Topps Big line ought to get some credit for innovation on Topps' part. Thea card features color photography on the front with multiple pictures plus a full color back (with plenty of comics). Looking at the regular 1988 Topps set, the Topps Big set is a breath of fresh air (and color) to be sure!
The one downside to the set for me is the actual size of the cards. As the set name implies, the cards are actually a bit bigger than your typical base card. In fact, they are just big enough to be super annoying...not to mention easy to ding up if you aren't careful when storing them. I don't have any plans to ever try and complete the Topps Big set, but I'll happily take a Barry Larkin card from any set, whether I like the actual set or not!
