TCDB Monday: It's a Monster, Folks!

Learning Something New on a Friday Night!

Most baseball card bloggers know about the site Listia.  In general, it's a site where you can get cards for "free."  I put the word free in quotes because you do need to either give away your own stuff (to earn credits) or to complete a bunch of surveys and other things (in order to earn credits).  However, not all cards are free - sometimes sellers charge actually money for shipping (in addition to credits for the auction).

The good news about that?  You can usually get a pretty good deal because most Listonians (is that a word...it is now) don't want to pay for anything, including shipping.

Case in point:

I picked up this little card for the a buck, plus 100 credits.  I don't think it was the best deal I've ever gotten from the site, but it did bring me one card closer to completing my 2013 Allen & Ginter set!

The card celebrates the Nag Hammadi Library which I had assumed was some sort of ancient building.  Of course, I'm an idiot and was totally wrong.  Behold!

Yeah.  The Nag Hammadi Library was a bunch of documents in a clay pot.

You learn something new every day...and sometimes you can learn for as little as a buck!

  1. Those are the gospels that made lots of people uncomfortable. They say one of those is the Magdalene Gospel. Nice card!
