Given that I reveal three cards from the 2005 UD Past Time Pennants set per day for the entire month of November, this is officially the final post without at least one Top 10 card in it! Who just misses the cut you ask? Well, how about a pair of Cardinals for starters (which is perfectly fine by me)...
#15: Harmon Killebrew
To be honest, I thought that this card was a shoo-in for the top 10 when I started sorting the set into piles of "decent," "good," and "great." Ultimately, I had to make some serious cuts to whittle down to the ten best and Mr. Killebrew ended up a few cards short. I love the shopping cart on the field - and the ad for Pure Ice in the background (there's also an ad for ice cream that you just barely make out).
#14: Enos Slaughter
The card itself is nice, but like the Killebrew, the real star is the advertisements in the background. For Slaughter, it's the totally awesome Gem Razor ad that makes the card...and there's something sort of funny about a guy named Slaughter having ads for razors in his photo.
#13: Stan Musial
Although simplistic, this card is another example of pure cardboard gold. Oh sure, it didn't quite make the Top 10 of the set but I'd consider this to be one of the more iconic cards in the set (despite it being of a blasted Cardinal).
