My Cardboard Mistress Helps Feed my Ginter Addiction

It's no surprise to anyone who reads my blog that I love me some Allen & Ginter.  Although the last few year's of the set haven't been quite as good as the early stuff, I've still bought more boxes of A&G than every other set combined.  Despite my lavish spending, I'm still struggling to complete the various insert sets (as evidenced by my want list).

Luckily, I sometimes find other people who buy a lot of Ginter as well - and once in awhile we can work out fairly large trades that help both of us out.  Case in point:  Adam from My Cardboard Mistress.

Adam sent me a large envelope full of a bunch of A&G goodies that I needed.  For today's post, we take a look at only a small part of the trade.  Specifically, let's look at the two oversized box loaders that Adam sent my way.

First up, OB-GS which is Giancarlo Stanton.

I've mentioned it before that I hate, hate, HATE the fact that Topps used letters rather than numbers for their set.  It's unnecessarily annoying for set collectors (but based on Topps' history of 10 card insert sets and super hidden short prints, set collectors don't rank very high on Topps' priority list).

The other oversized box loader that Adam sent me was OB-JH which is Josh Hamilton.

I have to admit, I wasn't even going to try and collect the box loader set but the circus theme sort of grew on me as I opened up my own case.  At this point, I'm sort of close to completion (by my count I need 7 more):

Thanks for the trade Adam - and I'll have more from the trade envelope as time allows (it's the week before finals for me so my time is spent crafting review sheets and, of course, writing final exams).  Once the finals are graded (and grades submitted) I'll have more time to devote to the 'ol blog!
