At 6:00 PM EST today, I invite you to check back here at Nachos Grande for my interview with Ryan (creator of the awesome custom Allen & Ginter's inspired Munnatawket Bat set)! For now though, it's time to return to the group break for some more packs. I'm thinking it's time for another couple Topps Gallery pack to go with the theme of "artistic sets" happening today!
Pack 05:
28. Jason Kendall - Pirates
Best card in the pack in my opinion. I love this way this one is framed!
39. Dmitri Young - Reds
45. Frank Thomas - White Sox
I'm guessing some of you will prefer the Thomas over the Kendall. I agree this is also gorgeous, but I think the Kendall is just a bit better!
71. Jay Buhner - Mariners
85. Moises Alou - Astros
110. Mike Piazza - Mets
Pack 06:
13. Nomar Garciaparra - Red Sox
37. Eric Davis - Cardinals
58. Rusty Greer - Rangers
I like how the back of the card has a brief blurb about what is happening on the front of the card (in Greer's case we learn that "Greer gets some assistance in keeping his eyes on the ball."
80. Shawn Green - Blue Jays
86. Chipper Jones - Braves
I don't particularly like the blurred batter photo technique...but the back of the card describes the front saying "the skill to play on the grass is one reason Jones is a step ahead." I like that because I hadn't even noticed that Chipper was playing on the grass the first time I looked at the photo. It makes you wonder how many other things you overlook on a typical baseball card!
147. Juan Encarnacion - Tigers

Oh Dear the Orioles are slipping. I haven't seen one pop up in this box yet. :(
