More 2013 Topps Chrome: My First Autograph of the Box!

After having all of the week before off for spring break, having to go to work all last week wasn't nearly so much fun.  Luckily, I kept a Christmas box of cards unopened for such a "rainy day"...and since I'm opening it slowly, it appears this box of 2013 Topps Chrome will stretch into the second week after spring break as well for me!

Sometimes procrastinating is a good thing!

Pack #7:
134.  Kendrys Morales
169.  A.J. Pierzynski
170.  Carter Capps
16.  Autograph:  Darin Ruf

Who is this?  I don't know anything about Darin Ruf, never even heard of him until I pulled this card.  Based on eBay auctions I do know that his autograph is worth somewhere around five bucks...that won't exactly do real far in helping me pay for 2014 Allen & Ginter's cards, now will it?

Pack #8:
71.  Ryan Wheeler
111.  Jon Lester
173.  Paul Goldschmidt

72C-JU.  1972 Chrome:  Justin Upton

Here's the second '72 Chrome card in the box (which should be it since they are seeded 1:12 packs).  More Braves trade bait (which is a good thing in my case!

Well, the box promises two autographs so I can only hope my second autograph ends up a bit more interesting than the first.  Of course, I fully expected to get two "dud" autographs but there's always that slim chance of something cool!  In terms of the base cards, I did alright in the two packs (the Goldschmidt is probably the best base card that I pulled).  So far, the box has been pretty light in terms of Reds (only one) which is the biggest disappointment (Darin's auto not withstanding).

  1. I'd be willing to send you a Fiver and a PWE for the Ruff auto...
