Brand: Pacific Crown Collection
Card number: 75
I am an unabashed fan of most Pacific sets. I love the fact that Pacific managed to create unique (sometimes crazy) sets for a number of years - and while some of the sets definitely ended up way too ugly, many of the sets Pacific designed have held up well over time. Case in point? The 1999 Pacific Crown Collection set. The front is a clean design with the necessary elements for me (team logo, player name, and nice photograph). I would prefer a bit less foil but I guess you can't have everything.
On the back, you get the typical (for Pacific) English/Spanish approach which does limit exactly how much "unique" text can fit on the card. Even so, you get a year's worth of statistics (plus career numbers) and a short descriptive paragraph. I don't think it was necessary to include the team logo on the front and back - but the logo is offset enough so as to not be a nuisance in the card design. Also, major kudos to Pacific for writing the name (and year) of the set in the card number bubble - it sure makes sorting cards much easier!
