2014 Topps Stadium Club Group Break: Hobby Box #2 - Mini Box #1 (CASE HIT!)

It's (finally) time to dig into the second (of two) 2014 Topps Stadium Club group break boxes.  Since each hobby box contains three mini packs, this should be the third-to-final group break post!

Box #2 - Mini Box #1:

Base:
C.J. Cron - Angels

Elvis Andrus - Rangers
Sandy Koufax - Dodgers
Bob Feller - Indians
Joe DiMaggio - Yankees
Carl Crawford - Dodgers
Michael Choice - Rangers
Carlos Gomez - Brewers
R.A. Dickey - Blue Jays
Willie Mays - Giants
Andrelton Simmons - Braves
Greg Maddux - Braves
Tony Cingrani - Reds
Mark Trumbo - Diamondbacks
Matt Cain - Giants

Duke Snider - Dodgers
Adam Wainwright - Cardinals
Carlos Beltran - Yankees
Justin Verlander - Tigers
Matt Carpenter - Cardinals
Ian Desmond - Nationals
Shelby Miller - Cardinals
Sonny Gray - Athletics

Starling Marte - Pirates
Julio Teheran - Braves
Johnny Cueto - Reds

Inserts/Parallels:
Field Access:  Willie Mays - Giants

We pulled this exact card in the first box too...unfortunately, this isn't the only duplicate (not by a long shot).

Legends Die-Cut:  Ken Griffey Jr. - Mariners

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card - too bad Griffey isn't pictured as a Red so that I could keep it for myself!  I hope Junior Junkie is happy with the pull though.  The Legends Die-Cuts are seeded 1:3 mini boxes or 1 per hobby box making this a nice box hit for the Mariners!

Illuminator Die-Cut:  Jose Abreu - White Sox

WOW!!!  This Illuminator Die-Cut is seeded 1:36 mini boxes which means 1:12 hobby boxes which makes it a CASE HIT for the White Sox!  A huge congrats to JediJeff who claimed Chicago - and probably just landed himself one of if not THE best card in the break!  The two I found that had sold on eBay already each went for almost the price of the entire hobby box ($79.99 for one and $71.00 for the other)!

Autograph:
SCA-JSA:  Jarrod Saltalamacchia - Marlins

Bad news here for most of us in the break - we got our second Salty autograph...  This one is slightly different in that Jarrod added his number to this signature but it's the same card otherwise.  That's now three Marlins autographs out of the four autos we have opened...

Overall, this box was a huge success given the case hit (plus the great Griffey die-cut).  Even the Salty auto, despite being the second of the break, was nice with the number inscription added.  Two more mini boxes remain, let's see if we can luck out and get something else cool!

Comments

  1. I have officially stopped whining with the bad luck I have been having in group breaks. :)

BTW - that will NOT be showing up on ebay.

  2. Yikes another Salty! While I'm happy to get multiple autos lets hope for some nice variety with the last two.
