It's time for the third (and final) mini box out of the first of the two 2014 Topps Stadium Club boxes that are part of the group break. So far, we've managed to find a pair of Miami Marlins autographs out of the first two mini boxes (who saw that coming?!). Today? Well, let's find out if we can go three-for-three in terms of Marlin autographs or if some other team will get in on the signature action!
Base:
Hunter Pence - Giants
Ryan Zimmerman - Nationals
Johnny Cueto - Reds
Josh Donaldson - Athletics
Wilin Rosario - Rockies
Jurickson Profar - Rangers
Chris Sale - White Sox
Ozzie Smith - Cardinals
Cole Hamels - Phillies
Billy Butler - Royals
Ernie Banks - Cubs
Jose Fernandez - Marlins
Evan Gattis - Braves
Todd Frazier - Reds
David Ortiz - Red Sox
Cal Ripken Jr. - Orioles
Robin Yount - Brewers
Oscar Taveras - Cardinals
Alex Gordon - Royals
Yu Darvish - Rangers
Yadier Molina - Cardinals
Jean Segura - Brewers
Derek Jeter - Yankees
Evan Longoria - Rays
Yasiel Puig - Dodgers
Parallels / Inserts:
Gold Parallel: Ty Cobb - Tigers
The Gold foil parallels are seeded 1:3 mini boxes which means this Cobb is a box hit for the Tigers! Congrats to Matthew who has Detroit (among other teams)!
Luminous: Yadier Molina - Cardinals
The Luminous die cut cards are also seeded 1:3 mini boxes which means we have another box hit on our hands! I definitely like the idea of rarer inserts like this - and the card both looks and feels special too. I think this is proof that you don't need a bit of ink or a bit cloth to make an interesting card!
Future Stars: Michael Wacha - Cardinals
The Cardinals score another insert in the box (congrats Brady)! The Future Stars Die-Cut cards are also seeded 1:3 mini boxes or one per hobby box. I don't think that the design is nearly as nice as the Luminous card but that might just be me.
Field Access: Miguel Cabrera - Tigers
Two Cardinals inserts, two Tigers inserts...
Autograph:
SCA-MW. Maury Wills - Dodgers
A big congratulations goes out to Night Owl who happened to claim the Dodgers this time around. It comes as no surprise to me that I pulled a Dodgers' autograph as I seem to pull more LA cards than just about any other team! I like getting autos of retired guys though - so to me this was the premier card of the first hobby box!
There's still another entire Stadium Club box that I haven't yet ripped open - so stay tuned to the blog for even more group break goodies in the near future!

I was having some problems with Google for a while and couldn't get logged in, or I would have been all over the Indians in this break. Now it looks like like it may have been a blessing ! The Feller is nice but the Tribe just doesn't get much love from the card companies !
ReplyDeleteI finally got off the skunk list. I think the Mets are still blanking in Stadium Club though. :(
ReplyDeleteThis box is like a Baseball Card Time Machine to a certain decade with the wackiest baseball cards...
ReplyDeleteOh man....no third Marlin. That Wills is a cool card. Congrats to the Night Owl!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Wills card
ReplyDeleteWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I LIKE THIS BREAK. A LOT.
ReplyDeleteHunter Pence and the Yankees card would make this a terrific box!
ReplyDeleteThe Molina card recycles the image on 2014T #57 http://www.cardboardconnection.com/2014-topps-series-1-baseball-variation-short-prints-guide - Thought TSC could do better than using pix from flagship for inserts.
