Brand: Fleer Ultra
Card number: 474
Fleer Ultra has long been one of my favorite brands which was one of the reasons I was so sad when Fleer went out of business (the other reason was that Fleer had some fairly inventive relic cards that I enjoyed)! This particular Larkin card is a great example of what made Fleer Ultra lots of fun - full bleed photography on the front in the form of a great action shot and even more great images on the back of the card. The 1994 Ultra set took that idea to the extreme with the three different images on the card's reverse side - but somehow the entire things goes together!
I also love the fact that this card features Larkin forcing Barry Bonds out at second base. There's some sort of Karmic justice happening there!
