Barry Larkin
Year: 1996
Brand: Score
Card number: 5
By the mid 90s, the Score brand was a rather low-end brand which was perfect for a poor kid like myself. I probably spent way too much money on the cheap set but at least the design was decent. I always liked the team colors at the bottom of the front of the card (though the fake "rip" at the top left irked me a little bit in it's weirdness).
The back of the card is where the set really shines - you get full career statistics plus a big 'ol paragraph of information about the player (plus a secondary photo). It's hard to beat that, though older collectors may need their reading glasses to actually be able to enjoy the card backs!
