Card number: 90
Pinnacle is easily one of my least favorite brands of the 90s. I know some people love the brand but for me Pinnacle never reached the apex of my collecting mountain (sorry, had to). The design of the 1996 Pinnacle set is particularly atrocious. The front of the card could have been nice if it weren't for the giant gold foil triangular name plate. In this case, it looks like Larkin is about to be impaled by a golden polygon...certainly not the ideal outcome for a baseball card.
The back of the card isn't nearly as bad - but I do find the card numbers somewhat difficult to read. I like the team logo - but I dislike not getting full career statistics (especially on what is essentially the flagship product for the Pinnacle brand).
All told, this card is easily in the category of "glad to have the Larkin for my collection but I'll never try to collect the full set." Yes, that's a long-winded category title but I'm a literal guy so it works for me!
